Question Spare Tire placement on 2204TL

Where is a good place to mount a spare tire on a 2204TL? It looks like there is a spot in the middle of the bumper. Is this safe? The bumper seems weak and not capable of holding any substantial weight? Thanks

the middle of the bumper is a good place to mount the spare, on mine and most of them are mounted on the bumper.

The middle of the bumper is where they have been putting them for quite a number of years. Your trailer either did not have the optional spare from the factory or somebody borrowed it for a different use.

It would be like the rigid style one here:Tire Carrier - RV bumper mount spare tire carriers - PPL Motor Homes

On my 2805C the spare is mounted underneath the RV at the rear. Check underneath yours to see if the mounting bracket is there.

On my 1995 Fun Chaser 22D model the spare was mounted in the tongue of the trailer behind the propane tanks. Likewise for my 2001 model HiLo.

Default Spare Tire

Just a word of caution. If your spare is mountsed on the rear bumper, be sure the bathroom window is closed all the way. I made that mistake with my first Hi Lo 2209T. The frame caught on the tire, not a good thing.

A good item to have on the checklist! (I've done it too!)
