Stabilizer jack T24 2007
 

Transition from our rather steep driveway to the road caused the left front stabilizer jack to get bent. Has a round pad for surface contact.
Please advise where to shop for a replacement?

I had a bent jack on my Hi-Lo when I bought it and managed to straighten it out with some tools and effort. But other than bent it was not damaged. You might get a good mechanic to look at it first if there's any question as to whether it's fixable. Auto body folks are good at this sort of thing.

Just an idea.

If yours are like the ones on our 2307C (scissor jack style), they can definitely be straightened - I managed to catch both front jacks on a high crown driveway between the street and a parking lot last year and bent the heck out of them (scissor arms were twisted backwards nearly 45 degrees and the round pads were all bent up).

After we got home, I unbolted both, clamped them one at a time into a big bench vise and bent them back straight with a big crescent wrench - took a bit of "tweaking" to get the alignment correct, but they've been working fine ever since.

Our stabilizer jack was bent on our last trip and so we took it to our local RV repair shop, to see if they could straighten it. Their opinion, "Once the jack is bent, you need to buy a new one."
They ordered us a new one which came in a day for $52.

Surely it all depends on how bad it's damaged and how confident they are they could make it work well. In a reasonable amount of time compared with just replacing. With a new one, they know it will work and you'll be happy. All depends on the situation and one's point of view. I would say.

For a business, there's also the liability aspect - many shops won't fix a damaged component if a new part is available to replace it.

This is just my opinion, but I think if the jack can be bent back so that it works again, it will be perfectly serviceable.

The jacks are NOT structural members. They are not designed to "lift" the trailer or to support its weight. They are simply there to control the rocking motion you would have if you move about in the trailer when it is parked. They should not be used to level the trailer, so there is very little force on them. Likewise, you should NEVER use these jacks to raise a side to service a tire.

Yesterday, Monday April 26th. 2021 I have replaced the left front scissor stabilizer jack. It was so easy, two bolts in elongated slots made it easy to realign with the holes on the new scissor jack. I think it took less than ten minutes including getting the 9/16th socket etc. I bought a 2 1/2 ton scissor jack from Harbor Freight for $36.99. Really well made and fitted right on. I had read many reviews on this jack before buying it and all were great. Many bought it for the same reason that I did. Just letting everyone know.
