I'm sure you will come up with a solution, but if you could get your hands on an unwanted aluminum extension ladder, you could take it apart and cut the ladder to size and possibly secure it to the underside of the bunk for storage. I've had a 21T with the bunk and I know what you mean by not wanting to add more "stuff" inside the trailer.
