Towing while up...

If God forbid someone should steal a Hi-Lo and was in the up position, how far would the bandit get? Do the brakes lock up? Would it easily tip over on a turn?

My dealer friend has towed them to his shop in the up position and I don't believe he has lost one yet. Of course that is a real no-no and would be a last resort thing to do, but it can be done in an emergency. Other than being not good for the lift system it should be stable towing IMO.

towing while up

Bouncing down the road with the top up will cause the cables to streach and or brake. Do not tow in up possion. If you are worired about theft there are several good locks, to prevent hooking the trailer up. Check the Camping World web sight for locks.

There's no brake lockup, but it IS hard on the "assembly". (Kind of like pushing on a tall stack of blocks - they're unstable.) I doubt it would be much of a "tipping" hazard either, the track is pretty wide, and I bet the top half doesn't have that much mass.

I always lock the hitch, both with a padlock in the lever and a lock in the ball receiver.

Locking the ball seems to be the best deterrent to theft.
