Default Two weeks of calamity

First the HiLo wouldn't lift up and we figured out the toggle switch was bad and replaced. Then my DH's brother passed away and we got through the visitation and then the funeral. Next our truck decided to not start. It was the rebuilt alternator that was only six months old and still under warranty. Our road service was in serious stupid mode and left us stranded for four hrs before they came and got us. I kept calling them and thought i was going to have to call the police to escort them to our location. We were only a half mile off a major highway. The gas station had a wonderful smelly portapotty. Napa honored the warranty even though we wanted to upgrade to a new alternator. The manager wouldn't even charge us for the upgrade. It would have been four or five days to get us a brand new alternator so we ended up putting another rebuilt as we were scheduled for a weekend of camping. Our mechanic had to squeeze us in without an apt. Then my youngest cat had a discharge from her eye and the other eye was swollen shut. DH and DD made two attempts several hrs apart to get in her the cat carrier for a vet visit. She scratched both of them royal. DH got it the worst and she let go of her bladder on him. Shower time. This made us miss one day of our campout. She cam down from her hiding place in the attic and her eye problems seemed to be cleared up. Could have been allergies? Went camping with no issues to the truck or HiLo. Got to the campground after a 2hr. drive. I opened a top cupboard and three glass bowls came crashing out. Two broke and what a mess of shredded glass. Used our dirt devel and got the mess cleaned up. One chip in the sink. Can you say porcelin touch up paint/patch. The campsite had cable TV and we found out that a city one hr. away was on lockdown because of two escaped convicts that have been on the loose for a week. It is defeniately someone elses turn for drama. Enjoyed the pot luck dinner and the company around the campfire. Discovered the exhaust system on our truck is about to rust out. We'll have to visit Cole muffler soon.

Things HAVE to get better now, don't they?

Glad you're all surviving and, that you seem to be able to maintain your sense of humor.

Go watch to Robin Williams movie RV and it will make you feel better. We used to have a 1984 30' Southwind motor home we named the rollin' turd.

When it rains it pours.
One of those trips that if it hasn't happened yet. Just watch this!

Just smile and be glad you are alive.

Man, I hate it when it all happens at once.
