My next trip is only 100 miles from home. Would it be a big deal if I filled my water tank at home? I have a 240TD pulled by a 2014 Sierra crew cab.

Shouldn't be a problem. I like to travel as light as I can though. Just make sure you keep the tongue weight within the 10-15% range.
