Hooboy....I've just discovered water damage directly behind the kitchen faucet on the horizontal surface that is attached to the upper part of my 22T. It's the part that almost lines up with the horizontal surface directly behind the faucet. (hope that made sense). I'm guessing the damage has something to do with the plumbing but haven't had a chance to investigate yet. My question is this...how in the world would you replace or repair the damaged portion? That piece appears to be a wood grained 1x3 attached to the upper portion and runs the entire length of the HiLo.

Your sink is on the side of the trailer, right? (Mine's on the rear in a 17T).

I doubt the problem is due to plumbing if the damage is on the part that is attached to the upper half of the trailer. There's no plumbing up there. I suspect you have a leak in the upper half that has let rain water in, possibly around the window, or along the edge of the roof - there's a seam up there.

If it's like mine, that piece is a strip of vinyl (wood grain) covered wood that has bee attached with a gummy contact glue. It can be lifted off, starting at one end or the other and you can inspect for further damage.

There's a couple of other threads in this forum where people have replaced the underlying side of the top that has been water damaged. It looks like a BIG job to me. If the damage is localized, I'd probably just try to stop the source of the leak and trust that it wouldn't spread.

Thanks for the quick reply...I tend to agree that it's probably not the plumbing. but here's the strange part...I've been in the camper before and after rain storms and that ledge behind the sink is bone dry. We're camping right now and the weather outside has been running about 40 degrees at night. We have an electric heater keeping us warm inside. In the morning the windows have condensation on them and the ledge is wet...but it is dry between the ledge and the window...also it is wet on the ledge going back towards the shower (on the same side). It is dry everywhere else in the HiLo. When we get home I will reseal the window and check the seam on the roof but I'm not sure if that's what's causing the problem.

Check along the outside bottom edge where the molding is, there could be a small crack or gap. That gap should be sealed to prevent water from getting in and wicking up into the wall. A good quality silicon sealer should be used.

Have you determined where your leak is from? I may know your problem. Welmore.

I have a '92' and it was water damaged before I had bought it. I tore the wall off and found the leak originated at the AC outlet port above the sink and window on that side of the wall. My HI-LO is a 22'. I had to do some panel replacing also. Ward
