Just got a 2000 Hi Lo classic 25 RD. I ran water through the city water hook up and everything works. Put water in the holding yank, switched the valve and I can hear the pump running, but no water. I know it had to work when they put it away because there was anti freeze in all of the lines. Is there something I am missing or could the pump be broken, but still running?

You COULD have a leak, but the possible culprit might be the winterizing valve that bypasses the water heater. Are all the faucets closed? The system has to build pressure for the pump to shut off. Sometimes, I've had to run mine about a minute to get it to shut off. And, you're not leaking water through the drain valves under the trailer about halfway to the other end?

Good to see you are still on here Jack! I opened the hot water valves and not seeing any leaks. Ran city water and everything seems to work. Must be the diaphragm on the pump. Sounds like it is pumping, but no pressure after several minutes.

Yes, it COULD be a diaphram leak, or, other seals in the pump itself. Those pumps are pretty robust, though. I can't think of a good way to test it unfortunately. Replacements are available online. I recommend etrailer.com. I think they have a good selection and had reasonable prices, last time I looked, which was several years ago.

My 2000 TowLite has a valve before the pump inlet where I can switch between the fresh water tank and a garden hose fitting that I connect to a RV Anti-freeze jug. Maybe your valve has the pump drawing from the Anti-freeze side.

And THAT is a better explanation of a possible reason than my talking about the two valves that bypass the hot water heater. Great post, On The Road!

If this valve was still in the Anti-freeze setting, it would just put air into the inlet side of the pump.

Turned out to be my pump. I pulled it and took it apart. The diaphragm had oil on it, so the pump was failing. Works good now.

The new pump is extremely loud. Does anyone else have a loud pump?
