Reese WD with Dual Cam sway control.

We use one!

Used, came with trailer, no brand markings, seems to work well.

Just picked mine up yesterday and the dealer threw a used one in with the camper. It is on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it handled great.

Yes, we use an Equalizer brand with our 22T. This hitch has sway control built in.

we use an equalizer and sway control.Round bar style. I welded 1 1/2 D.x 3 long pieces of pipe on each side of my frame (at a slight angle so my round bar lock groves hold in place at top of the pipe pieces)so when I'm disconnected I have a place to store the greased equalizer bars.

We also use the Equal-i-zer hitch with both weight distribution and sway with our 22T. It works well and we like it.

Unfortunately, no. We do have an anti-sway connection but folks around here want $750 to connect a WD setup on our 21 foot FunLite. We just went 2,000 miles on the Interstate and feel no urgent need for WD. Anti-sway was very much appreciated, OTOH. We will get a WD setup at some point but don't feel any urgency anymore after this last trip.

Here is a picture of the pipe sections that I welded to the frame to store the equalizer bars off the ground and out of the way when not in use.

Nice idea Les. I'll have to look into doing that as well.

What is the difference between the round bar and the trunnion WD hitches?

claucXC 08-07-2010 03:27 PM

For those of you who have a 22T: What size maximum tongue load capacity WD hitch are you using? I see 600#, 800# and 1000# models available. My max. estimated tongue load is right around 600# but could possibly exceed this by 50-100lbs. I'm wondering if its better then to go with the 800# model or will that cause other problems?
Thanks,
Chris

We do plus we have a brake control module.

Clever idea, Les. I tend to just put my bars on the back bumper of the camper when we're out. Otherwise, they live in the garage with the hitch when I'm home.

To everyone, It's a good idea to remove the hitch from your vehicle's receiver when you're not towing. If it's left on and you're rear-ended, it will cause fairly severe damage to your vehicle.
