what do these switches control
 

We just purchased a 85 hilo trailer and I have been doing some needed maintenance.

My hilo has 2 switches in the interior rear upper center. Center running lights are directly aft on exterior.
Any idea what they control? With battery in I can not find use, they appear to be 12v switches.

Leaving in March for a 5 month hang gliding vacation in Florida, Tenn and Texas. I live in Nevada so this will be a very long distance trip. Hope to be able to use the A/C in Tx, in July. 1997 toyota t100 TV.
Tires, wiring, battery in good shape now. This will be its shake down cruise.

My car, 1970 BMW cs, and motorcycle, 1983 gl Honda have made me a great believer in forums. Both are in top condition and run perfect. Now time for the hilo to come up to par.

Welcome to the forum! My unit has a switch on the back interior wall. It controls a bedroom interior light. Do your interior lights work? Maybe one of the bulbs is bad and that is why the switch seems to not function. The switches you mention have nothing to do with the exterior running lights.

What model and length is your trailer?

A picture would really help out here.

The switches might be factory installed or a previous owner could have put them in . I put several switches in my 95 for various things and have added things in my 2209 already.

cost was cheap, $1500, parts are not so much
rebuilt all of the tongue electrics as they were seriously dry rotted and wires were exposed. new break away switch and wire.
added wdh and stabilizer, which made great difference in handling. new 22" escape vent hood. replaced some running light covers and bulbs
To cold out to ascertain true function of refrig, but did work at purchase 2 months ago. I also have a small 120v frig to take on trip just in case. More is always better.
Came with a 1000w generator, new
Body and glass good but could use paint and roof coating after trip and some modifications. No leaks nor roof pitting noted. Leopard print tape in pics has to go!!!

There is a now covered hole above the shower, interior and exterior. Could this have been for a vent fan/ light. There are 2 lights w/switches in the toilet/shower area so unlikely switches are for these lights.

Was actually looking for a pop-up when I found this, and hopefully will work much better for my extended vacation.

My thought, my 95 has one switch on the wall that works in combination with the switch on the light over the toilet. The other switch may have been for the missing fan.

You are correct there poprichie, one switch is for the light and the other would be for the fan if there was one there

^^ I have the exact same switches in mine, indeed, one is for the fan, and the other is a secondary switch for the light (there is also a switch right on the light it's self)
