1/2 ton dodge
To all of you foks out there, we have an 1988 Hi Lo Voyager. Will a 1/2 ton dodge be able to pull it? Thanks! Becky

pull capasity
If you have a dodge ram, with a 373 gear ratio, it should pull up to 7000 lbs
if it has a 323 ratio it will only pull 3600 lbs. this isn't to say it won't pull it, but will it pull it reliably, depending on the year, early rams had weak transmissions that really need big trans coolers, etc. i hope this helps |
What year Dodge, what engine, and what rear end? I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 5.7L engine with a HEMI; 3.55 axle ratio, and I'm rated to tow 8700 pounds.
The 4.7L Dodge engines are rated much lower. |
Thanks All!
My son hitched to it last night and they took it for a test drive. Did really well and the new brake controller my hubby put into sons truck worked great. We just gotta get sway bars for when we have to be on interstate. Might get these tonight as a friend has a set.
Thanks again! Becky |
Be sure the sway bars are the right weight rating, if not, they won't help at all.

Why not just get an Anti-Sway, Weight Distributing hitch and call it a day?

Right on Jack,
that's what I really meant to say, had a senior moment I guess, was thinking of the torsion bars. |
