Default 1963 Model 531-8

We bought this for $200.00 and are remodeling it. It was gutted by previous owner and lost interest.

Sweet! Looks like mine that I'm working on. Mine is a 1961. If you scroll down a bit you'll see "Day 1" of the renovation and then work your way back from there.

Restoration & Maintenance

Keep us posted on how it's coming along. Did you remove the kitchen and dinette or did it come without them?

You've been busy! Looking good. It's come a long way since the first pics you posted. Nice little trailer you got for the price you paid. What a steal!

Thanks, it been a fun little project, can't wait to get on down the road. We are taking her on a national parks tour for 25th anniversary the end of the month. Thought the smiley would be a fun thing for passerbys when it's set up at camp.

where did you get the material for your rock guard? I have a worn out fiberglass one that needs replaced as well.

If I'm not mistaken that is a polycarbonate panel with a frame around it.

Shop Tuftex 12-ft x 26-in .32-Gauge Clear Corrugated Polycarbonate Roof Panel at Lowes.com

Misfit is correct, its 8'X3' white corrugated panel from Lowes cut down to about 48"X20" with a 1/2" aluminum channel frame and a 1 1/2"X 1/8" stiffener brace in center of awning I built, with arms and latches from another rock guard/awning off of another camper.

I mistakenly noted the incorrect model number in the title of this thread, the model is actually a 1963 model 531-8
