Rebuild upper half from water damage and restored to original birch paneling.

Thats so cool I like all of it. The fabric choice on the dinette and the hounds tooth curtains. The trim, the electric.

Beautiful restoration. I see you are ready for fishing.

I think you are referring to the riser rails. They had approx 10 coats of paint that had to be stripped back to galvanized metal finish.

Looks awesome, we restored same model back in 2013/14. made ours more custom but would have rather went original like yours but got overruled by better half.

Your trailer looks great. I'm just starting on a 1963 voyager that has lots of damage. I've taken off the skins and removed windows and am nervous about removing the guide rails. Did you take the top off the bottom to redo or prop the top up? Any other tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I propped the top half in place above the bottom and disconnected all the cable to allow repair. Did not have to remove any of the skins

Bird, that's a pretty clever way to support the top without taking it down from the trailer! I like the way you've added bracing on the outside to keep the top in place on the supports. That setup looks super secure!

Neat. Thank you. I thought I needed to remove the skins because the bottom piece of the framing as well as the bottom of all of the uprights was basically gone.

One other question, near the crank to raise the top, there is a flat metal bar and a cog wheel but they don't meet and there's no way to "click" the bar into the cog to keep the top from rolling back down. I've been using a bar that I put through the steps. Do you have a picture of that part of your trailer?

There is a simple l angle bar that stops the gear crank when in position.

Thank you so much. I see how it is supposed to look. Mine is only a flat bar that doesn't click in. I will replace it with a piece of angle iron.

I have all of the upper walls rebuilt and am getting ready to re-assemble the top section, but I noticed that two of the guide rails are missing some of there white nylon spacers. Do you have any suggestions for replacement parts or another idea of something that would work equally well?

Mine was also missing some nylon spacers, I got a 1/2inch nylon rod diameter from amazon and cut to length - drilled ends to have divots for clamp wire to hold in correctly. Used large gauge copper wire to hold nylon spacers on sliders.
