Greg, you sorry dog, you! Nothing like members rubbing our city-slicker noses in someone's back-yard wildlife.

Mountain Living

Having lived in the Colorado mountains 14 miles from Paosa Springs, we enjoyed 15 years of sightings like this. Now living in Texas and we have wildlife in our yard every night...the Hill Country deer are about 70-80 pounds in size. Thanks for sharing.

We haven't seen deer in a while, but have a number of other animals in our area, including a bald eagle that roosts on a tree behind our yard.

This is the first time we had seen an elk on our property since we moved here last August so it was totally unexpected. I knew there were elk in the area but hadn't seen one up close. This was before I had my first cup of coffee this morning and my first thought was "Man, that's a big deer!" I'm just glad he didn't start nibbling on my little spruce tree- guess he didn't find it to his liking. He instead went across to the neighbor's house and started munching on her trees.

Use to have them in the yard all the time when we lived in Sonora, but only saw a buck once.

Greg, here I was giving you a good jab about your sighting while I insinuated we don't have any in the city. In actuality Brenda and I have a red-tail hawk living in our back yard and a four point buck hit the rear of my pick-up six months ago right in the middle of the city.....yes, he died, but not before the body shop said 5 grand to fix it.

Didn't see elk in Sonora, only deer.

Sonora is where we bought our Hi-Lo, Garry. Didn't get to see enough of it but seemed like a nice little town. Being it was my first time towing this beast, I'm glad I didn't come across any deer there!

Sorry to hear about your deer incident, Jim. Sounds like the deer got the worst of it, tho! I'm hoping I never hit one!

I had seen your earlier post before your purchase and also the pics you posted of the Big O Tire store where you got your new treads and I wondered to myself if you had any problems getting that 24 through the parking lot, as it is sometimes congested. I had a 17ft Estrell that was at times hard to get in and out of there.

Garry, you're right on about that parking lot! I could not believe how busy that little shopping center was. Since this was my first time backing the trailer, I was struggling mightily trying to get it where the tire guy wanted it. He finally offered to back it in for me and I gladly relented. Show off! :o
