Hello,

This happened to us when we tried to raise our 2805C on unlevel ground. I was fortunate in that J&R still sold parts. The rod has a hole in one end that has a compression spring clip which holds it in place. Support the top of the tailer with 4x4 boards between the top half and the side out riggers. Remember once it is lowered the system you cannot get it back up until the lift system is repaired.

Once you have the top secured, release the tension on the cables by adjusting the end nuts to loosen all four cables. Once you have enough slack, cut the guide bar. Unscrew the nut on the hydraulic cylinder end shaft, and you should be able to get the parts out for replacement. I could not get the hydraulic coupling off the cylinder, so it cut the line as close to the cylinder as possible. I have read of some members having their cylinders rebuilt. I believe that is only for the seals though.

Good luck,
Pierre Levasseur

Thank you! We did cut the guide rod out and took out the cylinder to have it assessed for rebuild or figure out what we need to purchase. That was a big project! Hopefully install goes smoother
