The HiLo down position

Just wondering about the top of the HiLo when it is lowered in the down position. Is there a physical hard stop for the top when it is lowered in the down position?

It seems like I used to be able to get into the lower outside storage cabinets without the top being raised. On our last camp trip I noticed that I was not able to get them open without raising the top about an inch or so. Is this an indication that the cables are being stretched slightly? Anyone having any experience it is appreciated. Thanks

You should be able to see the hard stops, it does not rest on the cables. The stops stick out on the sides, 2 inch square tubing, also there is stops front and rear that rest on the frame. My 95 and 2209 both have them.
Just looked at the brochures and the classic models appear to only have stops front and rear, look under the front of the top when it is up the should be 2 rubber pads that rest on the frame when down, rear is the same.

My 1707T is similar to PopRichie's. The cables are not under tension when the top is down.
