tire questions: Freestar?

Hi All,

I've been digging around the internet trying to discern what trailer tires are good. Maxxis seems to be highly appreciated on this list - but the feedback on Amazon suggests they're sometimes shipping out old stock.

As I survey some review sites and compare to Amazon, these Freestars seem to be good bets as an alternative. Anyone have experience?

Thanks for any input as always

You may want to check out the Goodyear Endurance tires. They are new on the market and made in USA. Our new Jayco came with these as an option and are load range D. Last spring we put a set of Trailer King tires on out Hi-Lo 2310H which were load range D. I just saw that Keystone is putting them on their new trailers. I don't know what their track record is so far.

Thanks for the tip on the Endurance - I'll check them out.

I went to a RV show last weekend and noticed quite a few of the units had Good Year Endurance tires on them. I am getting them installed on my rig next Tuesday.

I just looked up Endurance tires on the Discount Tire site. They are speed rated up to 87 MPH! That's a great improvement over the standard 65 MPH rating of other ST tires. They are also Load Range E, which is a worthy improvement.

I think I'll have to give them serious consideration when it's time for me to re-tire.

Last year on our first day of a cross country trip we blew a tire near Needles, CA. After reaching Kingman, AZ we had four new tires, which were the new Good Year Endurance tires and have been very happy with them after our two month trip.:)

I use maxxis tires best tires I have used so far
I've had such good luck with them, I wouldn't use another brand
Might be a little more expensive but bit the bullet
Ordered them from Amazon and had a local tire shop mount them

camp, same here. local shop worked with me using a Trailer Aid instead of a floor jack and I had the mounted tires spun balanced. Been a dream ever since (about 2 yrs). Check tire pressures before each move and monthly in off season.
