wheel confusion
Hi, I have a 1508T that I bought used a few years ago. We use it a lot and really enjoy it. It is time for new tires-the tires/rims that are on it now are 5 lug 13 inch tires.
The "tire and loading" sticker on the trailer says it should have 15" tires, not 13 inch. Its possible a prior owner put smaller rims/tires on it or that the wrong load sticker was accidentally installed. It looks like there is room for 15 inch tires and I believe they would improve safety. Anybody have any idea what the factory recommended tires are, or have any input on this subject? Thank you, Dennis |
Dennis, I'm SURE the OEM wheels that came on your trailer WERE 15" ones! Yes, I'd get 15" wheels and tires to match. In fact, I believe the OEM tires should be 205/75-R15, but your sticker would show what yours should be. I suspect it came with Load Range C tires, but I'd try to find Load Range D ones if you can. Maxxis makes this tire and the new Goodyear Endurance is also available in this Load Range. The Goodyears have a higher speed rating too.
