Default Brake lights

Hi,
I saw a picture online of a Hi Lo with a second set of Brake lights mounted under the the marker lights on the back of the trailer. I would like to be able to store more stuff on the bumper but it blocks my brake lights. Has anyone added another set of brake lights to their trailer? I was wondering how you could reinforce the end cap to mount them and not damage the end cap.
Thanks

lincow, Good to hear from you. I went to amazon and bought two LED brake light bars, about $14 ea if I remember correctly. Wired them right into the VERY short brake wires below them. My existing brake lites were changed to RED LEDs. Trust me, they see those lights

Those look good. Did you support them? My mechanic was afraid the vibration would cause the end cap to crack. Smart idea.

lincow, Here's my secret, there is no secret. I simply drilled three nice round holes. One for the wires and two for the screws. In the screw holes I used plastic mounts, like those used for drywall. Wired them up and ran a bead of ADHESIVE caulk around the perimeter of the lite, screwed in place, damp clothed all excess caulk. when dry, I ran a bead of Lexel white.
If I can, I'll send a pic of the lights at nite, but it'll be parking lites only. It will be dark here in the mountains soon.

lincow, here's the brake lites now at 7:50 pm, still daylight, but you get the idea. They are bright. That's not a broken lens on the lower, I'm guessing the reflection of the flash. For the price and peace of mind, it was worth it. I later purchased two of these in white for my storage compartments, side and rear.

Default Brake Lights

I used the same light bar as Treeclimber and placed it as a high center mount 3rd brake light. One can never draw too much attention when your brake lights come on.
