Clear Coat or Sealer

Hey guys and gals

My wife and I just finished painting the exterior of our 79 Hi-Lo and are wondering if you could give us some good brands of Clear Coat or Sealer to protect the paint. We are not professionals and dont have a sprayer so any paint on products would be great. We are open to all of your opinions though :)

Thanks much !!!

Having been an industrial paint and blast contractor for 30 years, the only correct answer will come from your paint company representative. Everything will depend on what kind of product you used as a finish. But, I have to ask, if you own no way of spraying a finish coat, how did you apply it?

We have not applied a finish coat yet. We have only primed and painted. We rolled on the primer and paint. I know they make a roll on clear coat as well. I'm just looking for opinions on brands to use.

Painting

Not an expert by any means. You could pick up a sprayer at Harbor Freight. I saw one that was a reasonable price. Stop at a local body shop/boat repair place and ask for information. You've been given excellent advice by a person that has done commercial painting for a living.

I ended up using Varathane Spar Urethane Outdoor clearcoat. Put the first coat on last night. I will let you all know how it looks when I get finished.

Very cool!

What is the coiled cord in the front of the camper?

Older Hi-Lo trailers had an external coiled wire to run power from the lower half of the trailer to the upper half. Later models run this inside and cover it with a fabric sleeve.

I just got home and checked and Norton Rider is correct. It is connected to all my other power cables.
