Default Cracked Back Cap

The "back-cap" on my Hi-Lo has been broken loose about 6-8 inches on one side of my Hi-Lo due to an accident. My question is , , , if I remove the back-cap, how do I disconnect the wiring since all the rear lights will be removed with the cap? Is there a disconnect point somewhere in the upper cabinets? Otherwise I may be forced to cut out the back interior wall from the inside to repair the broken cubby holes and the wiring that was ripped out of the lights on that one side. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for the help. Jeff

Hello Yankeetraveler, I had the rear inside wall apart on my HiLo due to water damage. I also had to take the rear tail light assemblies off on the outside because that's where you can gain access to the wiring and the disconnect plug. I did not have the rear cap off on my HiLo.

Hope this helps.

From the outside unscrew the lenses. Mark your wire placement.Unhook the long wires. Then you should be able to get the cap off for Fiberglass repair. You might not have to take the cap off. Then you can repair the wall damage. Post pictures for further advice.

Thanks Angel , , , Looks like my wires are ripped off my tail light on one side but now I'll check to see if the disconnect plug pulled off. I'll have to use a coat hanger to reach the wire though. Appreciate you responding. My back window actually popped off when I had the accident and tore several cabinets from their attached places on the back wall. I've got some work ahead.
