Default Front window awning

Don’t know the correct name of this part but it is the hinged cover that goes over the front window when driving and acts as an awning when we are
Actually camping. (I have attached a photo)

There is some cracking in the material near the arm that supports it when open.

It seems like it is a plastic material. What can be used to patch/strengthen the area?

Thanks,
Dennis

I would use aluminum bar stock or angle you can find at any hardware store
Mount it on the underside of the cover with large pop rivets if damage is to great for that you may have to have stainless steel angle or pieces fabricated to fix the problem
Send me a PM if you need something fabricated I work at a sheetmetal shop in San Rafael CA

Also, stop drill the cracks to prevent them from spreading.

Thanks to both of you for your replies-campthewestcoast, thanks for the offer, but they are small cracks and I am sure I can find some material here—
