gutters

On a previous post a few months ago somebody was discussing rain gutter "spouts" on their trailer and I was unfamiliar as I don't have any. As it turns out, I only have "gutters" , I guess, on the curbside, which I never paid much attention to as the awning mounting covers most of it up. Nothing on the drivers side, just the metal roof wrapped over the edge with molding, screws, and calk securing it . Checking some other travel trailers on the storeage lot I realized most have gutters and spouts on each side.

Is it just me..... or do the rest of you have similar arrangements.? Mine is a 2001 so maybe it is something later models got. I realized the water leakage issue I discovered might have been less severe if there was something channeling the water away. Or, maybe, something was replaced sometime and that didn't get put back on, though it seems unlikely to me.

Anyway-----curious what the rest of you have. I assume it is something I could retro-fit.

I have seen some trailers that removed the vinyl trim strip (that covers/hides the screws) and replaced it with a piece of vinyl "J channel". "J channel" is used with vinyl siding on houses around windows and doors. Makes a perfect rain gutter. Just have to caulk the area real well. Just a thought.......
