Default i'm in a pickle!!

i think i may have a buyer for my Hi-Lo which is fantastic!
BUT I CAN'T FIND THE KEYS!!
this guy is making a 3-4hr drive on monday to come see it and may be taking it with him back to Oregon.
now i can't find the keys anywhere. i ALWAYS kept them in the tow vehicle. that way i knew i would always have them with me but i cannot find them anywhere. i remember seeing them when i cleaned out the Expedition which is what i used to tow it with.
since then, i have moved and still have a lot of boxes and thing to put away, but the keys should be in the tow vehicle!
i am in a panic here, whats my options if i can't find the keys???
i guess they could put a new lock on it.......
oh my

I'd think a locksmith could probably get the lock open and he could make you a new set of keys too (or, he could replace the lock).

If you don't find the keys quickly, that's the approach I'd take.

Default Loosing things

We've done some remodeling/reorganizing in the last few years and have misplaced a few things. Hope this makes you feel a little better. I hope you are able to find the title. I know you can apply for a duplicate.

Not that this helps you at the moment, but a safety deposit box is a good way to store things like "titles", savings bonds, etc. They don't cost much, and you always know where things are.

Default give him a bill of sale

and sign and send him the title when you get the new one

of course as soon as you apply for the new title you will find the old one
which will be no good any more

takes about 5 days to get a new title in Missouri

the story of my life

When I bought my truck (used, in a "private" sale), the title, which was being held by the former financing company was lost in the mail (so they say). Arizona is a "title holding" State. As the buyer, I was able to apply for a duplicate title. I seem to remember doing it in person at the Motor Vehicle Division office (where you get plates and driver's licenses).

I know it was not a particularly difficult process. But, I acknowledge other States will do things differently and they may make the process more of a hassle.

thanks everyone, i did find my title, it was in the papers & stuff i took out of the hi-lo. whew! i was so relieved to find it. i knew i could send it after the fact, the keys were more worriesome.
they came and looked at but said they would get back to me. i had forgotten to turn on the fridge and they wanted to make it worked.
so i have my fingers crossed.

In my past sales experience, people want something in perfect condition for $1000 dollars or less. Hang in there, somebody will come along and take it.
