Default Replacement Motor for Expand-a-room

Hi everyone. We purchased 2006 Hi-Lo 26C with the sofa expand-a-room. Just the other day, as we were packing up to head south, the expand-a-room hoist stopped working, so DH is having to hoist the room in and out manually. He checked the toggle switch and it is fine. He said there is power going to the switch, but no 12v power coming out. Does anyone know where to obtain a replacement motor for this? Thanks for any assistance! Sandi

Sandi,

Did he disconnect the power wires at the motor and checked the power there? If not, I suggest that he do that first. If he finds no power at the motor it could be a number of things:

1- Fuse
2- Switch
3- Bad wires or wire splice

In addition, it could be a bad limit switch or limit switch that is out of adjustment. This is a switch on the winch/motor assembly that stops the winch from retracting too much.

I found the winch manuals: http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f55/...werwinch-4173/

Note that the winch is made by this outfit: Carefree of Colorado. They still sell a version of it for use with pop-up trailers, to raise and lower them electrically.
