Top half sag
 

Hi, Our 29ft. Hi-Lo has about one inch of sag from the cables to the front of the unit and about the same amount from the cables to the rear of the unit. How common is this? Thanks for any information. Allen R.

What exactly do you mean by sag? Are you looking at the cables underneath with the top retracted?

Thank you for your reply. What I mean by sag is each end of the top half of the camper when in the raised position is about an inch lower then the point where the cable connects to the top half. Allen R.

I bet we're all still confused, at least I am. Are you saying that the top half appears to be too low compared to the bottom half, when you view it from the inside in the up position?

The trim rails on the top and bottom half may not be aligned when the top is raised. What is important is that the bulb seal on the top is against the "flange" on the outside of the bottom half. This can be hard to check, but that's what you're looking for.

You are correct that the top and bottom frame rails are not in perfect alignment, however they are close enough that the seal and the flange meet all the way around. I changed all four cables as a set this summer and with a few adjustments I have them all set at the same height. That is why I can see more clearly now that the upper frame rails are lower at each end of the trailer. That is also why I asked the question how common is this with Hi-Lo trailers.

Guess that it is the nature of the beast. My 29' has the same appearance. Notice that I did not say "problem". Even though the inside upper trim ledge is lower than the inside bottom trim ledge front end & back end, my rubber seal properly rests against the "seal stop" mounted on the upper outside of the bottom half of the trailer. Yes, the side trim ledges are closer to being even. As long as the body seal mates against the outside "seal stop", don't worry that the inside trim pieces are not level with each other. Hopefully my description came out clearer than mud.
