Dedicated faucet water filter
 

I'm considering installing a dedicated water filter on the cold water side of the kitchen faucet and was curious what filters everyone else is using. Is the 3m US-A1 something to consider or is there better alternative?

How about an external filter between the Hilo and fresh water supply? That way, all of the water is filtered. That's what I use.

I haven't hooked up to a freshwater supply yet. I usually stay at state parks and they usually have power but not water, it seems to always be the freshwater tank that I use. That's why I was considering the cold water side at the kitchen only. Another reason I was leaning that direction is to stretch the filter life, or is there a reason that I should filter everything that comes into the water system even when I fill the tank? I chlorinate the tank sometimes, that was another reason I wanted to filter the kitchen water.

That's a good idea...the fresh water tank will have some mildew build up inside if you don't treat the water and flush before trips. Let me know what works under the sink for you. Maybe the hose t's off to the bathroom sink too, so that will be filtered also.

I thought about that, but I am concerned with filter life so I'm just going to filter the kitchen for drinking and cooking. Keeping the tanks chlorinated should take care of any nasties in there. I don't mind showering with chlorinated water.
I'm hoping a 3m US-A1 will fit. Oh, I'll get it in there somewhere. ;)
