Default No pressure, pump on

Hi all,

2008 Towlite 17. Filled fresh water tank, turned on pump, just get gurgling sound. Hot water valve is straight, cold water is straight, clear tube valve perpendicular. City water inlet has airflow escaping. If I plug, get some water to faucets, but not steady. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Brett

How long has it been since you used the fresh water tank and pump? It appears that you may have a couple of problems. Working backwards, you shouldn't have air escaping from the city water connection. The check valve at the connection must be stuck open. Pull the screen and push on the check valve to make sure it isn't stuck open. Next, have you checked for any loose or bad water connections between the fresh water tank and the pump. It could be sucking air instead of water. If that isn't the case the pump itself could have internal problems. Have you had any problems with water wanting to go into the fresh water tank when hooked to city water? That would indicate the check valve in the pump isn't closing and that happens from the pump having not been used and it has dried out inside allowing the valves to stick open.

Default Something else to consider.

Rich gave you very good advice. When you are all done trouble shooting take the filter off the BR and kitchen sink. I have done this and found the strainer full of particles of grit. The filters were doing a good job. Hope you get your problem solved.

I had that same issue on my 2204T i bought last year. The pump would run and I would get the same gurggling sound from my faucets. It turned out to be something really simple. I opened the access panel at the front of the camper to inspect the pump, everything looked like new. There was a valve on one of the lines and as soon as i turned it the opposite direction, everything worked like a champ.

Could that have been the valve for the antifreeze suction hose?

I really don't know... we don't worry too much about anti-freeze here in S Ga.

I’d play w the valves-Our city water needed to be perpendicular to close the system. All faucets need to be closed.

That was it, the valve was stuck. Replaced and it works great, thank you!
