A/C plug
The a/c plug in my 2204 Towlite gets quite warm to hot when the a/c is operating. Being that I have not had this trailer for very long I have no experience with that plug. I know it is pulling some amps when the compressor is running but does anyone else's plug get hot when operating?
Thanks. |
Warm plug
as in the plug on the power cord
or plug - as in the wall receptacle. Just warm I wouldn't worry about; HOT however would be of concern. If hot I'd replace cord and/or receptacle. If that didn't work I'd let an ac tech look at unit. |
Thanks for the reply. I think I will keep an eye on it. It is pretty warm here today (lower 90's) and I think I was trying to keep it too cool in the trailer. Compressor was running for a long time. Plug has cooled down now that I have adjusted the temp to something the a/c can manage.

Where are you located? I just consulted the smartphone, I'm right at 90; perhaps we're neighbors.

Check the terminals on the plug they may have some corrosion, if it looks like they do clean them with some fine sand paper, wipe off and retry, if the plug was corroded the socket may be also. Running on high fan the AC in your trailer if a low style Dometic penguin it draws 15 amps.

Wrascal...I am located in Sebring, Fl. At least my trailer is here. I actually live in Melbourne, Fl and stay in my trailer while I am on shift. I fly an EMS helicopter for Tampa General that is stationed here in Sebring. Thanks again for the suggestions. |
Beating the air into submission!
Say what? They don't let you take it home at night?
