Battery power doesnt work
 

Hello: I have a 2000 22TD Hi Lo (Tow Lite). When plugged into AC, everything works just fine, incl lights, outlets and lift motor...

When I unplug from AC, nothing works... no lights and no lift motor. Just replaced with new battery and charged it overnight... still no help.

Any ideas out there? After studying schematics, I think one of my breakers located in the tongue (front battery compartment) may be bad. Any idea where I can get one? thanks, Mark

Is the power switch in the up position? Are you sure you have the battery connected properly and have checked all connections? Try jumping across the breaker terminals to see if anything happens. Does the lift pump run, that would be a good check for power coming from the battery? The breakers should be found at auto parts stores.

Do you have a 12V tester? Looks like a soldering gun with a light in the handle and a lead with an alligater clip coming off of it. You need to find out where the 12 volts stops.

I agree with you, the 12 volt test light probably is best for testing that situation.

I tested both 30A breakers in the battery compartment with a voltmeter. One is an auto reset (inside the compartment) and one is a manual reset (outside the compartment). The outside one had no power across it. Tried to reset it but its pretty rusty and corroded. I think they placed the manual reset one outside, in case the trailer is in "down" position, and you have to reset it... that way you can get to it... but it also exposes the breaker to a lot of corrosion.

Just found a same 2 pole (2 bolts) 30A breaker at Advance Auto Parts...
but its an auto reset... that's all they had. Am going to try to replace it with that... Do you think there will be an issue with using an auto reset breaker in place of a manual reset breaker? mark

Both breakers on our 2310H are auto reset, they have been that way for quite some time. I think the push button one on yours was moved outside. I have never seen any later years models made that way.
