Over stove fan and light
1998 Hi-Lo 21 footer.
The fan and light above my stove do not appear to have power. I cannot find a fuse anywhere and all the circuit breakers are on. ????????????????? |
Someone, about a year ago, discovered a second "enabling" switch in the bathroom, as I recall. Once that was set right, things worked. Do you have a switch that seems to do nothing? If so, it may activate your fan and stove light circuit.

When I rebuilt the top half of my 96 Hi-Lo Funchaser there was only one set of wires coming from the ceiling, then going inside the cabinet for all the lights and stove fan. I don't know if yours is like mine but if it is, the wires should be in the front right corner of the cabinet. If any of your lights work under the cabinet, then you need to pull up the false bottom inside the cabinet to see the wires and check for 12 volts.

The fan/light is quite likely attached to the 12 volt ceiling light circuit and that would be fused with the rest of the fuses in the fuse panel. The breakers are only for the 110 circuits, the plastic fuses are for the 12 volt circuits. If the lights are working, you most likely have a bad connection somewhere. Check for power at the switch with a meter or continuity tester. If there is no power there you will have to trace the circuit back to a connection. Locate the wires as stated above.

No stove/fan light
GaryK52 is spot on with his advice. We encountered the same wire set up in the cupboard closet to the door. We ended up lifting up the thin false bottom and putting the correct wiring together. This made our switch turn the outside lt. off from inside. This had been wired wrong from the factory.
