Parallel 12V Battery Harness
I have read some posts regarding the use of 2 ea. 12V batteries connected in parallel. For those who have done this, where did you buy the harness needed to connect the posts of the 2 batteries together?
Thanks in advance! Jeff |

A little more info would be helpful. Are the batteries end to end, side by side or apart from each other. Are they marine batteries with not only the clamp type like an automotive battery or do they have wingnuts to tighten down the cables. If they are side by side with wingnuts, I would go to a hardware store and get a couple feet of bendable 1/2 inch copper pipe and a piece of clear plastic hose to slide over the positive side and smash the ends flat, drill holes and tighten. I've done that when I used 6 volt golf cart batteries to make 12 volts. |
Thanks Gary! The batteries will be about 6" apart in the battery/manual back-up pump compartment. I have not installed the second battery yet-I would like to get the cable situation resolved first. They are marine batteries with the wing-nuts.

Standard battery cables can be bought at Wal-Mart or any auto supply for this purpose.

Battery
Jeff,
I installed a second battery in my existing battery/pump compartment in the front of the camper. I bought the hold down strap and two long rods from the battery section at the auto parts store. I did have to drill two holes in the bottom of the battery box for the long rods. After that it was a strap that goes over the battery pretty much like in a car. Can send you photo when I get home next week. It is pretty simple with common parts at any auto parts store or Walmart. God Bless Papa |
If it's not too much trouble, a photo would be great Papa!

When you hook them up do it this way. it is supposed to get proper current flow through both batteries.

Thanks for the info Rich! You saved me the time trying to locate a diagram showing the correct way to connect the batteries.
