AC BTU sizes

Hi all,

It's time to swap out the 23 year old ac unit on the 24er' If I ever owned the original documents on what's already in place, they're gone! What's a good size for these 24foot trailers?

12500 BTU okay? or should I be looking at a 15000BTU?

Thanks!
Leland

Okay... had the great idea to start looking behind the interior panels of the unit. It looks like a 13.5k BTU. So for future reference, that's what sits on these 24 footers.

AC unit

I have a 13,500 AC unit in my 1996 26ft. HiLo. It gets so cold that I have to turn it down. Don't know about the size wire. Could it take a higher rated unit? Could a new unit have an added soft start put in? Will this void the warranty?Things to consider.

Thanks Sam - I was thinking about this one which would have the start capacitor:

Just wish it was about $700 cheaper :)

I read another RV forum.

Many have purchased the start capacator and instralled it them selves.

We replaced our AC in our 2008 2808C and if yours has the ducted AC . I would reccommend this that was installed by Gander camping world.
This has a digital thermostat and I could have hooked the heater into the thermostat but chose not to.
We used the old covering inside to match up and I removed the knobs on that part and covered the places there with that woodgrain paper that is used in cupbards.
the wire was run under the splkice in the cieling and over to the overhead storage and we put the thermostat on there.
see attachment for the description of the AC.

There's a couple of retired ambulances in my local junkyard. My current camper (not a Hi Lo) won't support a rooftop ac, but I've been wanting to go pull one from one of those ambulances just to have and then I'd have to find something to put it in
