We spent 3 days on our 1st camping trip for this year at Tallulah falls camp ground near tallulah gorge GA, lots of scenery, and small town shops close by along with a bunch of country stores.

Gus, how was the drive up to the Gorge? We've camped at Helen, GA, but not the Gorge. Were there any nail-biting moments getting up there? I understand the park is financed through a consortium between the state of Georgia and Georgia Power Company, and is kept up fairly well. I believe Papa (who also is a member of this forum) and his wife, LaNita, made a trip to that park a few years back and had some good things to say about it, but did say it was fairly isolated.

Dee,
The drive wasn't bad, there are a lot to do there, but we drove to the overlook part, there is a country store on top and the view from there is great, I believe somewhere close by Karl Wallenda back in 1970 performed a high-wire walk across the gorge. but yes Ga power has something to do up there with the park. |
