Default How I solved grease/dirt tracks on my cornices

I have a 2007 22T with a couple of windows treatments that were getting grease tracks on them from the cable rollers that lift the upper portion of the camper up and down. Mainly it was the driver's side frontal window that was getting the most of a tracking issue on it. So, what I did was reduce the amount the valence protruded from the wall by a 1/2". I pulled the valence off the wall, removed the cornices/curtains and all the fabric from the wooden/fiber board valence; it's really easy because all the fabric is stapled into the valence. After all the fabric was removed I simply cut a 1/2" off the sides and top portion of the valence, brad nailed the valence back together and reattached all the fabric back to the valence along with the cornices and curtains. My cornices were tracked up pretty bad on that valence, so I cleaned the grease tracks with "Purple Stuff" degreaser, laundry detergent and a nylon brush. I was surprised how clean the cornices came out; you can hardly even see evidence of grease tracks on them now. I shot a couple pics of the new shorter valence(only protrudes from the wall 1-1/2" and a pic of an original valence which protrudes 2" from the wall. I'm not having issues with the other windows so no need to reduce those valences.IMGP0263.JPG
