Fits perfectly in my 2203! So lucky! My wife and I will sleep much better. Not totally done, will finish tomorrow.

I am planning to do something similar in my 2305 but I will be using a full size mattress so I don’t have to modify anything else

Savage709 10-29-2020 11:26 PM

funny you should mention this

I did something similar to my 31C...I took out the queen size bed and am using the nice memory foam mattress to fur bish the couch (which by the way is like sitting on a rack!) into a REAL comfy couch ..... then I removed the little night stand next to the bed and am converting the bed to a king size.... turns out there is just enough room to do this...it makes it a bit tight to get around in there, BUT, I know we will sleep much better as we have a king size bed at home. It's a big deal as this was a selling feature when I bought my 3124 Trailmanor. I did miss that big bed when we got our 31C and that was one of the things I wanted but HiLo doesn't make a king sie bed in any model....so I will have to do it myself. I took the couch and the old mattress out to an upholstery lady who is doing the conversion on the couch and I should have it back soon. The bed frame and deck is ready to go for a new mattress and when it gets delivered I'll have them place it inside the trailer. One thing I had to do though, is I had to install another luggage hatch door on the rear of the trailer so as to have access to the hot water on demand water heater (one can never have enough hot water for a shower unless you have one of these) controls and valves as it sat under the night stand in the rear corner of the unit and also for access to the storage space under the bed edge. This will be great and probably the last big project that I'll have to do on my trailer. I've done so much already .... like I have installed a self retracting hose reel for the water hose and also one for the electrical service cable...you just pull them out to whatever you need and when your ready to go, give them a tug and they roll themselves up. A BIG time saver. I also have had installed a Lippert Ground control self leveling jack system....just push a button and in a couple of minutes the trailer is stabilized and level (no more running around the trailer trying to adjust the jacks to get it level). Also I went to disc brakes and it will stop on a dime and give you 9 cents change with no adjusting or fear of over greasing the bearings. Better to be safe than sorry. Oh and one other thing is that at the end of the water hose reel I put in a large canister water filter and have a reverse osmosis's water filter for drinking water and cooking.
My object is to be able to set up and tear down as fast and as trouble free as possibly....and I want to get away from it all, but take it with me as well! That's why I have satellite TV with surround sound HA!!! :D

Great job on the modifications.

You have really made this trailer your own. Many happy camping adventures for you and your family.

thanks

thanks for your thoughts....and yes customizing is for everyone to make it your home away from home....you know I did the same thing with my old Trailmanor 3124 and I even documented it with a web site (www.trickmytrailmanor.com) which by the way I have given to a good friend/Trailmanor owner that wanted to preserve all the work I did for future Trailmanor owners....Making that web site was a hell of a lot of work, but I wanted to show (mainly the Trailmanor company) what was possible by upgrading things so as to make them better, but sadly they didn't take any of my advise however a lot of owners did and that made me happy!!! I liked the Trailmanor accept for a few things....mainly the toilet...wheeeeeeeew! what a stinker that abomination is...it is a recirculating toilet that really doesn't work and stinks if you crap in it at all....so what good is it...Trailmanor owners would actually defend it by saying they only used it to pee in and would go to the campground toilets for major dumping...so if you can't use it why have the stupid thing... Man I got in a lot of trouble over that toilet and to this day can't understand how people can be so F#$%#@$ stupid!!!I replaced mine with a REAL RV toilet that had it's own little holding tank under the toilet bowel (the very same one that the Scamp Trailer company puts in their units....WOW, what a difference that made!!! However I got kicked off their forum for raising a stink as big as that toilet itself....oh well, NO BIG LOSS!!! :p You know I have found that the HiLo crowd are SOOO much nicer folks than a lot of the Trailmanor people....don't know why that is, but I like you folks much more!!

Like I say the Trailmanor and the HiLo both have pro's and con's....another thing I didn't like about the Trailmanor is that it only has one axle (unless your lucky enough to find their biggest model the 3326 which does have two axles). But what really takes the cake for the HiLo was the couch tip out which creates much more room to live in and also I really do like the floor plan of my 31C with the galley up in the front of the trailer instead of in the middle like the Trailmanor where you are always trying to walk thru someone....plus in the HiLo there is WAY less stuff to set up although it is a lot more heavy than a Trailmanor.....all in all I think the HiLo is the better unit and seems to be better finished out especially on the inside trim....I Love MY HILO!!!! You know I thought about doing a web site on all the modifications that I have done to it but since the new HiLo company only makes matchbox trailers I thought what's the use.....however, anyone interested in what I have done please contact me at LNT123@att.net and I'll send you my phone number and would be happy to discuss with them my mods.
Happy Travels Folks
TC ;)

What manufacturer and model is the toilet that you are talking about

Savage709 11-01-2020 11:20 PM

did you even look at my old web site?

www.trickmytrailmanor.com page 20 from the drop down menu at the top of the front page.... so it is the Dometic Sealand 711 M28C ....and make sure if you buy one that you get the "C" model (the "C" means center port, otherwise you will get the one made for boats which dumps out the side instead of the bottom).... Go look at it and see what I did... :) And if you plan on buying one, get it from Scamp trailers at..... https://www.scamptrailers.com/parts-s...et-detail.html
that way you will get all the right parts and goodies that go with it for an easy install.....

I plan on doing this on my 18' by expanding the dinette bed outward as far as I can. I'll need to remove the cabinet in the attached picture to achieve this but the camper already has so much storage I won't miss it.
