2206 couch mod
 

After 11 years on sleeping on the uncomfortable couch and added plywood , foam futon and mattress topper for a better surface to sleep on
I removed it all
I reframed with steel 12 gauge unistrut and 2x4 laying flat and connecting the two with steel angle brackets
Now we have a very nice regular full mattress

Maybe you could post some images of what you did? That might help others with ideas.

I have put up with that original bed for too long also.
I read what you posted but do not understand what you did. Can you provide a little more of how you built the new bed frame? Is it still hinged so that it will fold into the couch or did you make it permanent down?

I hope you will show what you did for the bed.

That sounds like a great improvement!
