CO2 Detector gone bad

I had lowered my camper in front of the storm coming up the coast this weekend and had to run out there yesterday to get something out of it, while I had the door opened I had heard a faint beeping. Didn't have time to check it out at that moment. So when I got the chance I went back out there and got the CO2 detector out, which was making the noise. Replaced the batteries, which caused it to go off even worse. Come to find out I found a sticker on top of it that stated it should be replaced by August 2015. I wasn't aware that they could go bad.
Had to order a completely different type of detector, now I'm going to have extra holes in my wall. :(

Yes, they don't last forever. Had to replace the unit in my 2007 this year. Also check your propane and smoke detectors. Replacements should be RV type that can handle the vibration of the road and temperature extremes that an RV is subject to.

We have a combination smoke and CO detector in our 2310H and had to replace it this summer. It started beeping every minute. Yes, they only are good for so long.

Propane one is hardwired in, I think. Had to take smoke detector down. It went off every time we took a shower in it.

Humidity can effect smoke detectors and I think as they get older. Don't just take them down, replace them.

Amazon.com has a direct replacement but you have to type in the model number in the seach box

we replaced one in our previous camper. my research indicated the sampling medium degrades and that's why they only last a certain amount of time. we wrote the installed date and the date it needed to be replaced on the front in easy to read Sharpie pen. a bit annoying to spend $120 for a combo CO/LP detector, but worth the peace of mind. could you fashion a cover plate for the old hole or maybe an outlet cover would work?
