We just purchased a 1987 Fun Chaser... There are no window coverings or anything at all to suggest what was up... Any ideas on what kind of curtain rod or blinds that would not get in the way when lowered? Thanks!

Hi Kaci, welcome to the forum. It's a great place for information and a bunch of great folks willing to share knowledge and experience. Our '87 FunChaser has curtains on round rods that we snap out of the brackets and put on the front couch when we travel. I don't like to leave them in place when raising/lowering because of taking a chance they'll be caught in a cable.

Kaci, we're facing the same dilemma with our newly purchase '96 FunLite.

Has anyone found that it's OK to add 3/8" brackets with curtains for side windows WITHOUT these interfering with opening/closing of Hi-Lo? Or, should we avoid adding any brackets above side windows which might catch in mechanism?

What have others done for window privacy?

Maybe it would help for you to get some ideas by going to the Forum Reference Library and look at some of the brochures of Hi-Lo trailers. There are a lot of interior photos. http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f52/...llection-5123/

Whatever you put up will need to clear the space within the width of the bottom rail and should stay snug to the wall both top and bottom to not interfere with the operation of the lift and to also avoid touching the outside of the lower wall which could be dirty. The round rods placed at the top and bottom of the curtains would work and/or maybe the use of Velcro to secure the curtain to the wall. You could also go for blinds as you will see in the photos.

Rich, gotta tell you, today we tested 3/8" rods and plastic supports to hang curtains. No velcrow used. When top goes up or down, new curtains stay tucked into bottoms of windows. No interference with up/down action. Lots of privacy. Love it!

could you post a picture of the curtains/rods that you are using. I am having the same issue and have no coverings now.

Gus, sorry but we sold our Hi-Lo. For shower curtain. I drilled holes in rectangular shower overhead metal and simply attached shower curtain with clip-type pieces. Window rods were mounted as close as possible to walls and dropped into lower half of unit when top was dropped down. Hope this helps man.

We have a 1993 Funlite and we use cafe rods that set into brackets and we would remove them before we lower the top. However, we decided it was a pain to take them on and off so we got some little plastic screw on cable clips. We removed the brackets and screwed the cafe rods to the walls with the cable clips. Now the curtain rods stay securely in place and we just pull up the curtain ends and tuck them into the overhead cabinet handles to hold them out of the way when we lower the top! Woohoo! No muss no fuss! And no getting the curtain rods mixed up between windows.
