hydraulic jack
Has anyone added a hydraulic jack to level their HiLo? Any ideas on info to do this?

Are you referring to the hydraulic jacks that large motorhomes use at each corner?
The problem with trying to level a trailer using any kind of jacks is that trailer frames (including Hi-lo frames) are not made to stand uneven loading. Trying to level a trailer with jacks can result in a bent frame. Many trailers have scissors jacks at each corner. These are used to stabilize the trailer after it has been leveled. |
Rather than start a new thread, I decided to hijack this one ;)
Has anyone added a hydraulic manual lift to their Hi-lo. Mine doesn't have the manual option. There are manual hydraulic pumps on the market. My idea is to attach one to the side of the A frame beside the battery and motor box. Run a hose or tube to the existing hydraulic line. Connecting them together with some type of t connection and shutoff valves. So when the motor is working the fluid doesn't get sidetracked to the manual and vice versa. Has anyone tried this. I am taking my Hilo to a shop which builds and services all types of trailers from big commercial units to utility trailers. My primary reason for going is so they can check and repair my brakes and wheel bearings. I'm thinking of asking them if they could fabricate the manual system. |
