Default Renewing exterior caulk.

DH spent several sessions checking the caulk on the entire HiLo. Then he used Mineral spirts to clean areas and applying new caulk. We got this HiLo last July and had removed all windows and resealed with Butyl tape and Lexel caulk. Some areas on the exterior windows needed to be renewed. Must have slightly pulled away with flexing while traveling? This is cheap insurance against water damage. Be sure to caulk on top of the metal strip on the lower half of the HiLo. I call this the belt line. Even though we washed the HiLo the dirtiest part was where the awning meets the roof. I know DH used ppl60 in white. J&R sold us this. He also used some white Lexel. This preventive maintenance will save you a boat load of work down the road. Ask those of us that have had to repair soggy walls/water damage. Last repair..need to put externa bond tape on soft spot on the roof around the stink pipe (exterior. Tape is in the ref. chilling out. Easier to apply.

Thanks for the reminder. I just used Masterweld 620 purchased from JR where end caps meet roof and sidewalks, it’s really strong but not as easy to work with as Lexal. Sealed the roof with primer and finish coats of Kool seal, hoping that will last a while.
I’ll finish cleaning that lower edge today, dig out silicone previous owner used, and apply the lexal. This year’s remaining projects. Remove and reseal windows, upgrade original roof vent and fan, lubricate cables and lift ram.
Good projects now I’m mostly retired!
