Default Roof to body metal extrusion.

When we got the used 1996 26ft. HiLo we noticed some yellow and brown streaks down the side. Our body shop/fiberglass repair place told us to use oven cleaner to remove.streaks and it worked. Then the streaks would return. Not to self don't use oven cleaner with lemon scent. Magic sponges work real well on the HiLo. Unscrewed trim strip where roof meets body. Nice suprise none of the screws broke off. All were rusty (59). Used a Robson screw driver to back off screw and then completed removal with an impact driver. Spent a zillion hours scraping off soft gooey butyl tape and old caulk. 77* with a gentle breeze. DH has more caulk to scrape off the body of HiLo. In hindsight DH says we just should of ordered new extrusion!! Can't help him finish up as I will be visiting the BR quite frequently with my prep for Colonoscopy. Thinking about the other side that has the awning on it. Need to remove the awning another time. Is the roof to body extrusion the same ? We will order new extrusion. Not enough time before we leave for three days of camping. SS screws will be used as replacements. Hope this helps someone with repairs.
