Hello from the Hilotrolls

Hello,

Just signed up on hilo forum today. My girlfriend and I purchased a 1989 hilo last spring and we absolutely LOVE it. Would never know it is almost 23 years old......but is new to us. We live in Kentucky and I amexcited about learning more about the rally in Seveirville this June....only a couple hours away. Also noticed the 2013 rally may take place in Colorado. Was born and raised in Colorado and have a lot of family there. What a great trip that would be. We have only had our camper out three times since we got it but are looking forward to a few trips this summer....we really enjoy the camping experience and we hope to find other HILOers to share the experience. Hope to chat with some of you soon....bye for now....Hilotrolls( Mike and Karen ).

New to the forum

Welcome to the forum. I hope you can come to the Rallye in Ten. If you get a chance read through some of the back posts on maintenance. The library section is chucked full of information. We are here to help you in any way we can.Love the older trailers (very sturdy) they hold up under just about any adverse weather conditions. We own a restored 90 Classic trailer,25ft. Preloved and preowned. Lovingly owned by us for the past 11 yrs.

We have a few sites still available for the National Hi-Lo Rally in Tennessee. Just print out the forms from a previous post and mail them in.

Bob -- Dear husband and I will be there. Since we have never been to a Hi-Lo Rally, are the rally attendees predominantly a cross-section of adult couples and singles with few, if any, children under the age of 12? My 11 year old granddaughter has been ragging me to take her camping and, therefore, I have made reservations to do so after the rally at Lake Jordan near Raleigh, NC where she lives. But, if there are a number of children around her age attending the rally, I believe she would not be bored if I brought her. So, give it to me straight!! On the other hand, we adults need some adult down time once in a while.

Hi Dee,

Looking forward to meeting you guys at the rally. Of the approximate 65 trailers already registered, only 2 kids have been registered to attend. I'm not sure of their ages.

Bob

Unfortunately I have to work these dates. But I live less than an hour from Sevierville so we might drive over one evening to say "hi" to everyone.

Dee Tillotson 03-22-2012 03:20 PM

Bob -- Thanks for the information. I think I will pass on bringing her this time. See you at the rally.

Rally agenda

Has an agenda for the 2012 rally been posted or is it available anywhere. Now that we got signed up my wife asked if there are any events planned. This is our first rally so forgive me if this is a stupid question.
Thanks
God Bless
Papa

My school teacher wife says there is no such thing as a stupid question. :)

retiredcamper47 04-29-2012 12:14 AM

The agenda sheets will be mailed to the rally attendees with their site assignment. This will be happening soon.

Bob -- Dear Husband and I will be coming in a day early and leaving a day late after the end of the rally. We called the campground many months ago, after we registered for the rally, to make reservations for the extra nights. When we called, we indicated that we were part of the National High-Lo Rally. At that time, the campground provided us with a designated site. I assume the campground coordinates with you their site designations provided to campers like us who are early check-ins?!!

The campground has the site #'s we have reserved but do not know who is assigned to the sites unless Bruce sent them a list before he was hospitalized. On our way home from Boston and just crossed over into PA. I will check things out for you Dee and let you know.

Bob

Dee Tillotson 04-30-2012 11:12 AM

Bob -- We are also on the road today, Monday, from North Carolina to the low country of South Carolina, pulling the Hi-Lo at about 60 mph. Will probably be home about 4:00 p.m. If it helps you any, when we get home I'll check the file cabinet for the site # the campground gave us when we reserved the extra nights. Let me know if you need it. I know the logistics of planning this rally has to be overwhelming. But, for dear husband and myself, we want you to know we greatly appreciate all the work you and Bruce have put into this rally.

Too late?

We are new owners and would like to attend your Tennessee Rally. Is it too late?

JIM L 05-06-2012 09:15 AM

Look at the first post on page 1 of this thread and download the registration form. The form also has the phone number to call for information on the rally.

retiredcamper47 05-06-2012 03:41 PM

At this point, we will put you on a waiting list, in case of any cancellations. All sites at the campground are already booked for that week. Give Bruce a call on his cell for further info.

Bob

jsrussell30 05-11-2012 09:06 PM

I know we are too late to attend, but as fate would have it, we are traveling to Pigeon Forge that week as well. I would love to take a look at some of the restored trailers. I hope it would be possible to drop in and say hi....

retiredcamper47 05-13-2012 11:57 PM

Stop by and say howdy. I'm sure people would be happy to show you what they have done to their units. I don't know what the campground's visitor policy is.

Bob

JIM L 05-22-2012 02:00 PM

I just today called River Plantation and made reservations to come in early for the Rally. They indicated that there are now vacancies at the park for that week. I was able to get the same spot that the rally has us assigned to. For anyone wanting to attend you should call the Ohio group to see if its too late to be included in Rally events.
