HiLo "Video" owners manuals... youtube!
Hi Everyone,
Your HiLo zealot here, with some news... I have decoded and posted all of the chapters, from the late model, I assume 2005 or newer (I am awaiting answers from person(s) on if they know what year/model this is for). However much of the information is generic (you know except switch locations and panel versions) to most of the not too old HiLos we all have. Youtube video location, This link is for the 1st one (the hello & congrats video #1) and others are in my videos, with description as tittle and numbered 1- I think there were 36 chapters or movie cuts I uploaded. youtbe is neat for what it is, but I HATE the interface, so it can be a challenge to find all 36 chapters I posted. Thank you "Sting" for the Videos, what a great addition! I created this index for those wanting to go directly to a topic. Once you are in YouTube you can click on the header "Sting32" and select the space just to the left of the down arrow next to Sting32 and you can choose any of the videos you would like to view. Good job sting32, I know you put a lot of work into this.
Yes, thanks NDgent, you also put time and work into it. |
HiLo You Tube
Thank Sting 32 for all your hard work. Watched a few and will eventually get to them all. Thanks NDgent for putting the index together.

Wow!
Holy Cow! What a great piece of work! I'm really blown away by what you've done here, buddy.
This is a fantastic resource for any new (or even old) ;) HiLo owner. Edit: This is really a professional bit of work - everyone in this forum needs to look at it. I guarantee you will learn something. One question though, how the heck did you get the underside of your trailer so clean? :D Edit 2: To Neal and Bev - This resource needs its own (sub) forum. Sting has done an amazing job here and it should be something that is easy for a new member to find, and for the rest of us to refer to when questions come up. - Jack |

that isnt me or my trailer though. Trivia questions before the thread gets built or anything: 1. what year trailer you think they are using for the demos? 2. is that a professional speaker, or one of the actuall Hilo people giving the demo? I dont know. I can only guess the year of that hilo is newer than my 95 :D THANK YOU NDAGENT! if the thread got stickied I was thinking of doing similiar, you save me some work! I been swamped at work, else we'd had the vids sooner. Some information for others that want to do this sort of thing? For those who want to build their own local copy of those videos from the youtube to like some place on your harddrive, you need 2 things. Apple's Safari Browser, and watch this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtWr2...eature=related then yo will need FLV player to watch them, https://download.cnet.com/FLV-Player/...-10467081.html OR you convert them. This util works good for the same thing (getting movies off youtube, converting to other formats) I use it to make the movie fit my phone which is Windows phone.. https://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ Called youtube downloader. I like using Safari to get video, youtubedownloader to change the format of the video... "Ripping" the DVD was done using trial version of $45 software, I found on the internet. I liked it, that this one worked without putting a HUGE watermark in the middle of the video, unlike all the 10 other versions I tried. Luckily for use none of the chapters were more than 5 minutes as well (Unpaid - trial limitation). I cant recall what I used, since I tried about 10 products, one of them really hosed my computer when I uninstalled it. Anyway, I'll post it later, when I am at home, if I dont forget to. |
I think I figured out that wasn't you as I was dropping off to sleep last night. :o Funny, I saw Sting32 all over the YouTube posts and just naturally came to an erroneous conclusion.
I think the trailer is older than my 2007 model. My refrigerator has all electronic "touch panel" controls. The cover over my battery compartment is hinged in two places so that I can get to the pump for manual lifting with the top down. I don't know if the "demonstrator" is a professional speaker or not, but he sure is clear and easy to follow. - Jack |
HILO You Tube
I think the speaker is Larry Mills who was or is the son-in-law of Jim Snyder former owner of Hilo Trailer Company.

Not trying to step on Sting's toes here, but if you use Firefox, like I do, there's a plugin called DownLoadHelper that is very easily used to download YouTube videos to your PC. This is their homepage: DownloadHelper - Media download Firefox extension. It's free, though they'd like a "donation", no ads, and doesn't seem to install any spyware or other malware.
And, to view ".flv" files and other formats too, I highly recommend VLC Media Player from here: VideoLAN - VLC: Official site - Free multimedia solutions for all OS!. It's open source, no ads, no spyware. They'd appreciate a $10.00 donation. It plays virtually ANY video file, including ".MOV" and ".mp4". I like VLC much better than FLV Player. - Jack |
Thanks so much Sting - I enjoyed watching it. My '95 21 Towlite didn't have a bunk so now I see how it works. There aren't too many Hi-Los out here in Utah to compare with mine in spite of the highest per capita RV ownership. It's nice to see what they added to the newer models. Nothing I can't live without, except maybe the propane alarm. It made me go look and I discovered after 4 years that I have a 110 outlet under my outside shower.

Thanks for keeping me up way past my bed time! It was like watching a good movie. Couldn't stop once I started veiwing. I just reread my owners manual and learned a few things but learned a lot more by watching. Job well done.

Sting,
I agree with Tess. The speaker is Larry Mills. Bob |
SUPER thanks bunches- plan on watching all of them.

[SIZE="4"]I have to laugh, I didnt notice video 22 didnt upload, I need to go figure out which one that was.
(ok not the backup pump,.) I'm stumped though Ill see if I get time this week to figure out what happened. OK video 22 was ROOF VENT, all he said was tighten securely when traveling. I lost the small vid, and software to convert has expired free trial. no biggie IMHO. |
Video capture and converter
Thank you STing32 for uploading all of those videos! They are most informative.
Also Thanks to JackandJanet. I tried the Firefox add on and converter and was able to easily save these videos to my hard drive. I'll put them on my laptop and can carry them with me while on the road, in case I need to refer to one. I'm glad I found (and joined) this forum already. pjcremin |
Great job--- this will help tremendously
|
Great info thankyou, I just purchased a 22T so the vids are a great help.
