Good day to you I am not sure if I am at the right place, but here goes you can correct me if I am wrong.
I recently bought a old trailer at a farm auction for almost nothing the wheels were rotted off of it and had been stored in a pasture or somewhere, the last plate on it was dated 1985. Once I got it back to my place this past Saturday I found it was some sort of old camper, after pressure washing the years and layers of stuff off of it we came across some chrome letters near the top of the unit that says: HI CUSTOM CAMPER LOW, personally I had never heard of a unit like this one till now. Any way long story, short I am looking for any information about this unit, so far after checking with our motor vehicle licensing agent I was able to locate the old registration with the serial number of 2-618 there was no model number since it was pretty much rubbed off. The date made was 1962 the inside is in pretty rough shape but it is worth restoring it really has nothing for electrical service to it except maybe from what someone added to it, I don't believe it was original for the unit the ice box is just that an ice box I haven't seen a fridge like this in better part of 45 years, it has two propane lights mounted on either end of the roof with no lines running to them. The information I am looking for is so I can restored the jewel and use it behind my 1941 GMC when I go touring to the west coast next summer, any information will greatly be appreciated. many thanks and as my cowboy hero always said at the end of his shows, Happy Trails to You.

Smitty, first of all click "Reply"
When the box appears click on the little paper clip on the top line
When the white box appears click on the top "Browse"
Find your pictures you want to post and load them there by clicking
on the selected picture and click "open"
Go back to the white box and you will see that the picture address will
be loaded next to a "Browse" box
Click on the box that says "Upload"
Click on the box at the bottom marked "Submit reply"

Congrats on your find! That is gonna look pretty cool, once restored, behind your old GMC. Be sure to post photos when complete!

Identifying trailer
 

This doesn't quite look like some of the 60s HiLos I have seen. It is close to a HiLo ..so this is the right forum for you. Best of luck with your restoration. Do a search of back posts for 60s HiLos that have been restored.

Thanks for the info I am posting a few more photo's the ice box fridge, was a challenge spent a better part the day cleaning it of old paint and oil storage but now I think it is useable once more.

That's an awesome find Smitty, and welcome to the forum. Take a look at this, it's for year 1963, but I doubt that it changed much.

Many thanks for the link underpsi, mod 531-S comes close to what I have in the floor plan but it is a tad bit longer by about a foot and a half. The custom made bunks I thought the person before me just made two cots out of steel pipes and canvas, almost like a crude stretcher that attaches to the ceiling as well just above the eating area. I will post picture's of that later, I guess what was picked up for 25.00 dollars was not a bad deal after all. Mind you it will more in likely cost a tad bit more to try and bring it back to its original specs a majority of the unit has had some re-modifications added to it which I think the unit may not had when purchased by the previse owner, to my understanding I was told that he bought it someplace in the U.S. of A. back in the early 60's and brought it back to Canada with him where it pretty much toured this country till the late 80's when the axel got broken and was taken off the road. For me to get a proper plate for this unit we have to replace the axel again I will post pictures later, and the take it to a Government inspection Depoe to have it safety inspection before I can put a proper plate on in. Unfortunately I may have to re-modify and change the original axel to a new one which runs about 1,000. dollars anyway again many thanks for the information it is greatly appreciated take care.
