New to Hi-Lo campers
 

New Member here, just picked up my first Hi-Lo camper today. Installed a exterior door and fixed a leaking roof for trade. It's a 1975 18375 Hi-Lo. It's in pretty good shape. Had a small roof leak but not a lot of damage. Where can I find parts for this? Are parts still available? I'm going to bring it home this week, give it a good cleaning and then start testing everything in it.

Thanks I definitely will!! Waiting to bring it home. I want to replace the tires on it, what size should I put on? I want to change the rims on it to. The original equipment tire size is G78x14, load range B. Weren't they bias ply? Is there a.radial conversion?

Yes, I'd switch to metric radials and I'd go with no less than Load Range C - Load Range D if you can find them. I'd highly recommend Maxxis M8008 trailer tires. Make sure the diameter and width fit in your wheel wells.

I just checked, you probably will not find Load Range D in 14" tires. But there are LR Cs.

Don't be tempted to put a car/ truck tire on. Most don't have the side wall strength that a trailer tire needs. A trailer tire sits for long periods of time and is designed for that purpose. I also recommend balancing your tires on travel trailers. There is a lot of vibration and any means to lessen the stress on the rig will lengthen its life.

You should be able to find a conversion from the old to new sizes there. Do go for radial tires.
