Shouldn't be too much of a problem, there. I'm looking forward to this trip.

Default Clarification

Chuck Carlson is the long time sales man at Mantelli trailer.. Kim Manteli is the owner. Just great people to know. They will mail parts anywhere and are available to answer any questions you may have. Jay Simon is the parts manager.

Well, we're back from Utah with our Trailer. For starters it IS a 2288, somewhat larger than I had bargained for. They told me it was seventeen feet, but I think they use different rulers up there. I had a terrific time going after it, meeting the new in-laws, etc...

Things I learned...

1. My 1996 Land Cruiser is not up to the task of hauling the big sucker up and down mountains. We did fine on flat land and in hills, but mountains are too much. We overheated twice. I've got my eye on an Avalanche now (the Chevy, not the snow).

2. Trailer brakes are awesome. I got the Hopkins controller, it worked great.

3. Hi Lo's tow great! I could not be more impressed with how that monster towed behind my rig (except the mountain parts). I think on flat land my wife's Volvo could haul that thing, though we certainly do not intend to try.

The skylight has a crack, and there is a small amount of water damage around it, but everything else works like a charm. It is a beat-up old trailer, and the pink bathroom divider thing is going to the trash, but I could not be more pleased.

I'll put up some pictures later, and it came with all the original paperwork and owner's manual and whatnot, so if someone needs some of that, I can make copies.

Thanks for all of your sage advice, folks. It made all the difference in the world.

Default Towing the HiLo home.

Glad you made it home Okay. If nothing every happened you wouldn't have any stories to tell. Take some exterior pictures and post when you get a chance. Also interior pictures and post. I would get the skylight fixed and the roof dammage first. Perhaps others can advise you. If you can't get at it right away then cover he roof to prevent further dammage.
