New Member with a question
We are buying a 1995 Hi Lo Funlite 24 and will pick it up on Thursday. This will be our first trailer and I am so nervous. My hubby is at a conference in Tennessee this week. When he left we were buying a 2007 pop-up tent trailer.... and now I have put money down on something much older and needing some sprucing up. I was wondering.... it has the bathroom with the saloon style doors and sliding screen on the upper half. One door is missing and I really don't like the sliding panel material. Has anyone removed the bathroom swing doors and screen and put up a curtain instead?

I don't see why you couldn't redo the bathroom entrance with a curtain. Whatever you do, you just need to make sure it doesn't interfere with raising and lowering.

Someone on this forum, I forget who, actually changed the fabric wall on the top half to a solid one that swung forward for lowering. One of the things I have enjoyed on mine is doing modifications so it better fits our needs.
Enjoy your new trailer! |
I installed a new carrier channel that I put curtain hooks with sliders into, in the bathroom. I left the bi-swing door
My hi-lo is older than yours. The advantage of having an older hi-lo is the ability to remodel to what you want it to be and not worrying about the re-sale value or originality. Trlr's rarely go up in value. Having said that I saw a 1965 Shasta for $6k on craigslist last week, and it was not pristine. Also not likely to go for that amount. I have changed mine significantly. It is now what I want it to be for a minimal cost. I could afford a newer and different trlr. But I have mine configured to my desires and needs. And will be leaving Reno for another 3 month trip across the US in Feb. Use your trlr before you make changes. That way you are making informed changes to meet your needs or desires. Curtains are a cheap and easy changes. Just remember!!!! it has to work when lowering also. |
