We just bought a 2005 Hi Lo Towlite 2705T which seems to be in pretty good shape. Obviously needs a GOOD cleaning but it seems a part from a broken interior light lens and a minor ding on the awning post everything seems to work.

I suspect the awning will need replacement soon as it shows some wear due to UV. I will need to replace ALL the little fan rotors as they've disintegrated due to UV. Anyone know the shaft size?

It appears we may be the 3rd or 4th owners and the trailer has been fairly well cared for. Even includes the original owners manual, list and reviews of campgrounds where original owners stayed.

I can't tell you how excited we are to start taking trips in this!

Enjoy your new to you RV. Their are several back posts on replacing awning material if you are a DIYS person. Post pictures of the parts you need. Most parts are common to many RVS. Search the internet.

Welcome to the forum. We have the same year/model as you, which includes the original bill of sale. Our unit did have numerous extras added, which included a Fantastic fan in the bedroom. I recently (1-2 years) added a Fantastic Fan in the kitchen and have not made any changes to the fan in the bathroom, other than a new lid. From Southern California we have twice been as far east as Massachusetts. The first time was up through Indiana, Ohio, New York, and after Massachusetts down through the Southern States to Gulf Shores, Alabama. The last time was through Arkansas, Tennessee and north to Massachusetts. Of course we had to go back to Gulf Shores, Alabama to one of our favorite RV sites. I hadn’t thought of replacing the awning ourselves but I suppose it makes sense. We are pretty handy so I will definitely research that.

I like the idea of installing Fantastic Fans and will check that out as an option. I understand they work well.

We’re purchasing a 100 watt solar panel kit and a 3500 Watt Super Quiet Inverter Generator to add to our power options and after cleaning we’ll replace all incandescent lights for LED’s.

Well...... after trying a local RV center for a quote to repair/replace the awning and awning support arms I was less than confident that they even had a clue what they were dealing with in regards to a Hi Lo.

That being said I immediately called Joel, who is the former Plant Manager of Hi Lo and has 30 years of experience. Joel explained that the awning AND all the hardware are custom made specifically for Hi Lo trailers and any attempts to install parts even from the same manufacturer would prove problematic.

Glad I didn’t waste my time AND money trying the other option lol.

Joel is very patient and extremely knowledgeable and consequently has saved me a lot of time, aggravation AND money.

That's interesting cuz I have a Dometic 8500 awning on mine which seems to be a standard awning so I'm assuming mine must have been replaced a one time then...

I also have an 8500 awning, however, the fabric has been replaced with a stock size. This stock size is 1 foot too long. At first I thought I had some weird set up and thought I'd have to replace it. Then I found that if I didn't deploy it fully, it would stay like normal. That's what I'm used to and work around it. I could have a canvass shop reduce the fabric and re-sew the stationary (trailer) end.

I wrote down every number I could find on my 8500 awning and took it to a local RV repair shop and to Camping World for a cost comparison. They knew the fabric was for a Hi-Lo by the numbers I had given them.
