Default Any parts source BESIDES J&R

I have an 08 Classic 28C. I bought a replacement cable from J&R and it went ok. My next order didn’t go so well. (I will spare you the details) Everyone here seems to speak pretty highly of them so I won’t “rag on them” .... I just think it’s a bad thing when there is only ONE place to shop. Competition makes for better service. Where else can I get factory parts?

Default What part are you looking for?

Our HiLo dealer gave up on getting parts from J&R. Not making excuses for them. However this is their busy season.

I was needing pulleys.... was told they were in stock and they’d “ship today”. A week later they still hadn’t shipped. Ron basically tried to put the blame on me instead of just accepting responsibility.
I found some metal ones at tractor supply (original ones are plastic). They had to be altered a bit but now working and should last forever. I also found a tail light I needed on eBay at about 1/2 of J&Rs price.

Good for ya Frankie! Will you do the rest of us a favor and document the metal pulleys from TSC and how you had to alter them (and a picture is worth 1000 words)? This could be added to our pool of knowledge. For sure someone else will have the same need sometime soon.

And, yes, most of the Hi-Lo components are generic to the RV world so good for searching eBay!

You're making progress!

Default TSC pulleys

Ok. I was anxious to get my camper up and tired of waiting for parts so I went to Tractor Supply and found something to work. They are 3” cable pulleys and cost about $14 each. The ones J&R sell are plastic and cost $10 plus shipping. I had to remove the pulley from the housing (just need the wheel itself) and also knock out the bushing and buy a 1/2 X 5/8 spacer. I smeared a little axle grease on it and it is working perfectly.

I would think the metal ones are an improvement over the factory plastic and usually in stock at TSC and many other hardware stores.

Oh... and as for the light. I saw the word “Bargman”on the lense so I just went to EBay and typed in Bargman light and found several vendors selling them. Mine was $16.55 with free shipping.

Default Glad you are back in business.

Most parts can be sourced somewhere on the internet. Most likely cheaper and several sources to choose from.

I’d like to find a place that will make the cables. I’m having trouble finding an economical way of obtaining the cables with the threaded rod sweged on one end. Anybody know of a source?
